George Logan

George Logan is a Connecticut State Senator. He represents the 17 th District; which includes Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Derby, Hamden, Naugatuck and Woodbridge. The Senate Republican Majority Whip, Senator Logan is Co-chair of the Planning and Development Committee and Vice-Chair of the Public Health and Veterans Affairs Committee. Senator Logan also serves as a member of the Education Committee and the Regulation Review Committee.

Trained as an engineer, but a business man by profession, Senator Logan has stressed the state’s need to retain and attract young skilled workers and professionals, and to create a business-friendly environment. Senator Logan believes that the state budgeting process starts “with the simple concept that we stop spending more than we take in.” He believes action is immediately needed to reduce the burdensome regulations and taxes.

Senator Logan has spent most of his professional life working through the ranks or the largest private water company in the state – Aquarion – where he learned every aspect of providing clean drinking water to customers. During this time, Logan has engaged in capital projects, sustainability programs, alternative energy programs, watershed maintenance, environmental compliance, natural resources management, and government relations. At each stage of responsibility, Senator Logan earned the trust of local officials, environmental organizations, property owners, government officials and businesses.

George Logan has devoted his spare time to various community-based causes that have improved the quality of life for thousands of families. Offering his experience and volunteer time, is an essential part of his life, which includes serving as a girls’ basketball coach at Assumption School, and as a board member for Griffin Hospital, the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Central Connecticut YMCA, and Junior Achievement of Western Connecticut.

In 2017, Senator Logan was selected by the Connecticut Alliance of YMCA’s to receive the organization’s Legislative Champion Award. Also, in 2017, Georg Logan was presented with the George Bellinger Corporate Award by the Greater Bridgeport NAACP. This award recognizes “leadership in diversity and inclusion with a focus on community outreach and professional development.”

Senator George Logan graduated from Notre Dame High School in West Haven, earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Trinity College, and earned a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport. George Logan lives in Ansonia with his wife, Lisa, who is a Registered Nurse for the CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. George Logan has two children – son Hunter and daughter Tracey.
